Cleaning or Replacing the Moistener Wick

If the seal quality does not improve after cleaning the moistener pad assembly, you can replace the wick as needed.

Connect+® 1000 and Connect+® 2000 Systems

Open the supplies cover and lift out the envelope sealant bottle.The bottle is located to the left of the tape roll.
Lift the feed cover.
Push down on the moistener pad assembly button.
Grasp the moistener pad assembly and pull it straight out towards you.
Use two fingers to remove the wick.
Clean the wick by holding it under running water.
Slide the wick back into place. Gently press down on the wick to ensure it is seated properly.
Push the moistener pad assembly back on its track until it snaps into position.

NOTE: Verify that the moistener pad assembly is perfectly level with the feed deck.
Close the feed cover.
Replace the envelope sealant bottle and close the supplies cover.
Select OK.

Open the supplies cover and lift out the envelope sealant bottle.The bottle is located to the left of the tape roll.
Lift the feed cover.
Pull up on the top release lever.
Use the blue notch to pull on and open the moistener deck.
Use two fingers to remove the wick.
Clean the wick by holding it under running water.
Slide the wick back into place. Gently press down on the wick to ensure it is seated properly.
Push the moistener deck back into place.
Push down on the top release lever until it snaps into place.
Close the feed cover and select OK.
